It's a tossup between whether we enjoy the smell or the taste of Voltaire's Vantage more. Our answer usually depends upon which we more recently did to be honest.

We source the specialty grade beans that comprise our Voltaire's Vantage from around the world. We apply an even medium roast to the beans and add natural oils while the beans are still warm to achieve an unbelievably smooth, french vanilla scent and flavor.

About the Name:

François-Marie d’Arouet, known popularly by his pen name, Voltaire, was a prolific French writer who helped shape the Age of Englightenment. Voltaire was not just a philosopher but also a historian, playwright, and author whose works covered a wide variety of topics. He was well known among many aristocratic families for his wit and eloquence.

Voltaire was a firm proponent of the intellectually stimulating effects of caffeine, reportedly drinking between 40 and 50 cups of coffee per day! Voltaire's doctor warned him that coffee was a slow poison, to which Voltaire infamously replied, "Yes, it is a remarkably slow poison. I have been drinking it every day for more than seventy-five years."

We hope he would have liked his namesake brew. Although flavored coffee was not invented until nearly 200 years after his death, Voltaire is purported to have liked mixing chocolate with his coffee, making him one of history's first flavored coffee drinkers.
