Our Honduran Single Origin is one of our boldest coffees. Deep, rich notes of cinnamon and honey come through with each taste. Perfect for those who like strongly brewed, complex coffees.
Our Single Origin Honduran grows in the surrounding mountains of the town of Marcala. The combination of Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, Lempira, & Typica beans are strictly high grown (grown above 1350 meters) which increases the density and by extension flavor concentration of each bean. We source the coffee from a group of 1500 smallholder growers operating under Cafe Organics Marcala. Cafe Organics Marcala was founded in 2001 for two noteworthy purposes:
- Shifting the conventional chemical practices employed by farmers in the region to organic ones
- Creating opportunities for small-scale farmers struggling in the Marcala region
After harvest, beans are sorted to within European Preparation standards and sustainably sun-dried. We apply a Medium-Dark roast to the beans which serves to enhance and bring out the complex aromas and flavors of each bean.
