Our Ethiopian Single Origin is one of our favorites. In line with most naturally processed Ethiopian coffees, each sip sits lightly on the palette. Fruity hints of blueberry and honey pervade this Single Origin.
Our Single Origin Ethiopian grows at an altitude of 1780m in the mountains of Ethiopia's Oromia Region. The distinctively high clay content of the region makes for highly fertile soil, great for growing coffee. Our Single Origin Ethiopian is purchased through the Kubsitu Cooperative, an organization that manages 400 family-owned farms that plant a species of coffee native to the region
Once harvested, the beans are rigorously washed and hand-sorted to remove defective beans, leaving Grade-1 beans. Beans are then placed on raised drying beds and left to dry and ferment inside their cherry for up to 3 weeks. This process, known as natural processing, allows the cherry to impart its flavor profile to the beans inside it. We apply a medium roast, resulting in a coffee with a distinctive light fruitiness that is perfect as a staple in your coffee rotation.
