"Darkly hedonistic, in the best way."
-Julie S. | A Posteriori Coffee Co. Customer
Our signature Americano Pragmatism blend is our darkest roast. Hints of apple and lemon combine with a dense mouthfeel in this blend. Great for everyday espresso drinking.
Americano Pragmatism is made from a blend of 6 different kinds of espresso beans sourced from around the world. We apply a dark roast to the beans to give it a classic espresso flavor that makes this coffee perfect as a daily staple for espresso enthusiasts.
Don't want the caffeine? We also make a decaffeinated version of Americano Pragmatism.
About the Name
American pragmatism, or pragmatism, is a philosophical tradition that came about in the US during the 1870s. Generally, pragmatists posit that the way people think ought to be geared towards the outcomes of those thoughts and not necessarily concerned with being a "true" representation of the external world. There are many different flavors of pragmatism with prominent pragmatists including Charles Sanders Peirce (pictured above), William James, and John Dewey.
Caffè Americano is a popular coffee beverage, prepared by brewing a shot of espresso and diluting it with some amount of hot water. Allegedly, this recipe originated in Italy during WWII. The story goes that American soldiers stationed there found the coffee the Italians served to be too strong, so they would order hot water to add to the coffee to "Americanize" their coffee. Cafe owners began to refer to this order as a Caffè Americano.

Darkly hedonistic, in the best way. Excellent coffee. No sugar, no cream
Over the 6+ years that I have been partaking in the magic bean-juice, I have come to want two things from it: (1) For it to taste the way I expect (or better) and (2) for it to be associated with rad people (or ideas).
(1) The flavor of the Americano Pragmatism was exactly what I would expect from a coffee-shop-quality espresso blend. Brewed in a french press, it tasted far superior to the stock espresso blend that my family uses.
(2) Will is a rad dude. So is John Locke for that matter. Actually, I consider everyone seriously interested in philosophy to be a rad person, and I love to see more people be made aware of the subject and how it can be of benefit. I can't help but support that.
I hope to see more great things from Mr. Misback in the future.
